The Technical Manager is responsible for overseeing all technical aspects of property maintenance, including infrastructure, facilities, and equipment, to ensure the efficient and safe operation of Chalets1066 properties. This role involves managing maintenance projects, coordinating with external contractors, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Maintenance Management:

  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures to ensure the upkeep of chalets, including routine inspections and preventive maintenance activities.
  • Coordinate with internal and external teams to address maintenance issues promptly and effectively.
  • Oversee the maintenance of property infrastructure, including heating systems, plumbing, electrical systems, hot tubs, and structural components.
  • Prioritize maintenance tasks based on urgency, safety considerations, and impact on guest experience.
  • Coordinate and communicate with owners on maintenance and project management of the chalets.

Project Management:

  • Plan and execute major maintenance projects, renovations, and upgrades as needed.
  • Identify project requirements, develop project plans, and establish timelines and budgets.
  • Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and vendors to procure materials and services.
  • Monitor project progress, resolve any issues or delays, and ensure projects are completed within budget and schedule.

Technical Support:

  • Provide technical support and guidance to staff members, contractors, and seasonal employees.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and implement solutions to resolve problems effectively.
  • Conduct training sessions and workshops to enhance technical skills and knowledge among operational teams.

Compliance and Safety:

  • Ensure compliance with relevant health, safety, and building regulations, codes, and standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards or compliance issues.
  • Implement corrective actions and measures to maintain a safe and secure environment for guests and staff.

Procurement and Inventory Management:

  • Manage the procurement of technical equipment, tools, and supplies required for maintenance activities.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure adequate stock levels of essential items.
  • Evaluate suppliers, negotiate contracts, and source cost-effective solutions to meet operational needs.

Budget Management:

  • Assist in the development of maintenance budgets and forecasts.
  • Monitor expenditures, track costs, and identify opportunities to optimize spending.
  • Provide regular reports and updates on budget performance to the Operations Manager.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience in property maintenance, facilities management, or a similar role.
  • Strong technical knowledge and expertise in building systems, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Project management skills with the ability to plan, organize, and execute maintenance projects effectively.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and mentor staff members.
  • Proficiency in computer software and applications related to maintenance management.

 

The Technical Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the operational efficiency and safety of Chalets1066 properties by managing technical aspects of maintenance and infrastructure. They contribute to the overall guest experience and satisfaction by maintaining high standards of quality and safety throughout the properties.

Fixed-term position, renewable to a permanent contract.

Salary commensurate with experience.
